Ms. Fairclough is summa cum laude graduate of Florida A and M University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, as well as a Masters Degree in Reading, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Ms. Fairclough is also Nationally Board Certified and Florida’s 2007 Recipient for the Unsung Heroes Award sponsored by ING which recognizes teachers that implements creative and innovative educational programs for their students. In 2009, while a classroom teacher, Patricia Fairclough was honored by Former Governor Charlie Crist as Florida’s African American Excellence in Education Award recipient. On February 17, 2010 Ms. Fairclough was announced as Miami Dade County Public School’s Francisco R. Walker Teacher of the Year and was later announced as semi-finalist for State of Florida’s teacher of the year. On August 14, 2017, Ms. Fairclough was announced as the recipient of the “Outstanding Administrator Award” from the Miami Dade Community Action & Human Services HeadStart/Early Head Start Division.
Ms. Fairclough is also a member of the National Education Association, International Reading Association, National Board Certified Teachers of Miami, Inc., Pi Lambda Theta Professional Educators Sorority, an Honorary Life Member of the Florida Parent Teacher Association, and a board member of a host of local 501 C3 non profit organizations.
